OUR PROGRAM METHODOLOGY

Athletes demand a higher level of training and at Poulin Performance we have customizable programs to meet those demands. Our sports performance programs begin with a thorough functional evaluation. We are not only interested in how much you can move, but HOW you move it. We look at specific movement patterns and qualify how well those movements are being performed. It is important to understand the body’s limitations and how to correct them in order to develop your individual program. We utilize a multi-faceted approach to improving performance of every athlete who trains with us. Our programs will make you feel great, run faster, cut quicker, have better endurance and be more powerful while significantly decreasing your risk of injury. Our proven methodology has helped numerous amateur and professional athletes, let us help you.

At Poulin Performance we have created a variety of training options that will allow the individual the ability to train individually or in one of our exclusive group sessions. Please see our IFit programs for the current group offerings.

CORRECT

In order for athletes to improve they must first understand how they compensate.  Our athletes are evaluated on a daily basis to identify movement dysfunctions that will lead to decreased performance and increased risk of injury.   This first stage of training called corrective exercise training is imperative if strength and performance are expected.  We use postural restoration techniques which are most effective in changing dynamic posture.  

STABILITY

Building the complete athlete is a process that begins with building a solid core.  Not only does the core need to be solid, it also needs to be symmetrical.  Before we attempt to improve an athletes strength or power we stabilize any lumbo-pelvic-femoral imbalances.


REACTIVE

Reactive neuromuscular training involves making athletes function at a level that's faster than they think is possible.  We guide athletes through plyometric exercises that involve visual and verbal stimuli maximizing their quickness and ability to adapt.  Once stable our athletes move into our plyometric phase of training.  We use things like agility ladders, medicine balls, plyometric hurdles and the Vertimax to develp such power.

MOVEMENT SKILLS

Teaching proper strategies such as running technique, deceleration, acceleration, cutting and jumping enable us to help our athletes reach their full potential.  By addressing small compensations in technique our athletes see big improvemnts in top speed, 40 yd dash, t-test and vertical jump.  Our knowledge of efficient movement coupled with our use of the Force Treadmill guarantees results. 

STRENGTH

When performed properly strength training can be an incredible tool to become a better athlete.  Done with the right load, speed and technique, strength is a weapon every athlete can use in their arsenal.  Our goal is to create movement proficiency under appropriate load to assist each athlete in becoming stronger for their sport.

Please see above for our Performance Enhancement Training Methodology.  What Are My Training Options? Personal Training Our personal training program will offer you the most individualized training program around. When training one on one each training session is catered to the athlete’s individual needs. Customized cardiovascular, nutrition, and strength programs are offered to these individuals on their off days.  Cost-    $75 for 1 session            $600 for 10 sessions             Small Group Training Our small group training takes place every day after school, and varies between 5-10 kids per group. Times are subject to change during the different sports seasons. (see the google calendar for small group training hours) It is advised that all athletes interested in the group training purchase at least two personal training sessions before joining the group so we can properly evaluate the athlete and teach them the ground works for our programs.  See below for training videos.  Cost-    $20 drop in/hour            $150 punch card for 10 sessions (1 hour sessions)            $140 unlimited training for the month   Can I reserve time if I have enough kids to form my own small group?  YES! If you have 5 or more athletes that are interested in training we will block off time on the training schedule for them to come in and train together. ***Prices are subject to change during summer training programs, as workouts are an hour and a half. We are happy to come to your facility and or you can come to us. Every workout will be catered to your team’s needs and the specific needs for your sport.
